Got home and realized the latest file is still on your office computer?

Skip the return trip and continue from home.

Open that computer's desktop with HomiPlay and finish the work where you left it.

The old way

  1. 1The file or software is on another computer
  2. 2Ask a coworker or return to the office
  3. 3Rebuild the working context

With HomiPlay

  1. Find the computer in your device list
  2. Open HomiPlay Remote Desktop
  3. Continue from exactly where you stopped

A small revision should not mean another commute

After getting home, an employee receives one last presentation change. The source file and specialist software are on the office computer, so they connect from a home laptop, make the edit, export, and call it a day.

What HomiPlay takes off your plate

  • No IP addresses or router changes
  • No operating-system remote desktop service
  • No reinstalling software that already exists remotely

More ways to use it

  • Check a long-running job
  • Use software installed only at home
  • Help family solve a computer problem

How It Works

1

Install HomiPlay on Both Devices and Sign In

Install HomiPlay on the device you will control from and the device you will control, then sign in to the same account on both. Return to the dashboard and confirm the target device shows as "online." Note: remote desktop supports Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iPhone, and iPad.

2

Grant the Required System Permissions on the Host

If the device being controlled runs macOS, the system will prompt for permissions the first time. Enable "Screen Recording" so the remote side can see the screen, and "Accessibility" so it can control the mouse and keyboard. Click "Open Settings," enable HomiPlay in the list, then return to the app and click "Recheck."

3

Protect Your Device (Optional)

If you need to protect this device, click the account icon on the top right of HomiPlay to open the menu, and set a device access password in Security settings. Once enabled, other devices must enter the correct access password before establishing a remote desktop connection to this device.

4

Open "Remote Desktop" from the Device Menu

In the dashboard device list, open the target device's menu and choose "Remote Desktop." HomiPlay opens a remote desktop window and establishes the session directly. There is no IP address to enter and no system remote desktop service to turn on.

5

Choose a Display and Quality, Then Take Control

Once connected, use the toolbar to switch displays and adjust quality, then enable "Remote Control" to drive the mouse and keyboard. For cross-platform sessions, turn on shortcut translation so your local shortcuts map to the remote operating system.

Technical details

Remote Desktop uses HomiPlay’s own encrypted transport, so the operating system’s RDP or VNC service does not need to be exposed. It supports multiple displays, quality modes, view-only control, and cross-system shortcut translation.
